Kicking off the PerPrev-CID project in Kiel, Germany

From 3-4 March, the PerPrev-CID consortium gathered in Kiel, Germany for the official kick-off meeting, bringing together 15 partners from 8 countries to launch this ambitious project.

The first day of the meeting began with a warm welcome and an agenda overview from project coordinator Philip Rosenstiel, who emphasized the importance of collaboration: "Let’s try to build a great team here for the efforts of PerPrev-CID." With the goal of setting new standards in CID prediction and prevention, the consortium discussed central project objectives as well as first planned activities and actions.

Partners then introduced their respective research clusters, providing an overview of their work and objectives. This was followed by parallel workshops and group discussions, where the main focus was on fostering collaboration among partners to streamline the coordination and execution of clinical trials. The day concluded with a summary session, bringing together the main takeaways, before everyone gathered for a joint dinner—an opportunity for further exchange.

The second day featured further cluster presentations and in-depth group discussions on key topics, including patient involvement and co-creation with patient organisations as well as synergies with similar projects to maximize impact. The meeting concluded with a final discussion, summarising key takeaways and outlining the next steps, including plans for the next Annual Meeting. The PerPrev-CID consortium left Kiel with valuable insights, new ideas, and a strong foundation for the next five years.
